Tools and Technology: EnergyPro

At Jackson & Sands Engineering, Inc., a wide array of tools are available to us to create effective solutions for you. In our industry, like many others, not one tool can complete every job, and not all tools are needed for every project. Much like a carpenter who has their most commonly used tools in their toolbags, yet more tools in their toolbox, and even more tools that are rented for specialized projects, we find ourselves using our core tools on most aspects of every project. Other tools may be used less frequently on most projects, and even more tools are needed on a case-by-case basis. The most commonly used tools for us include:

EnergyPro– This software allows us to model residential homes for energy compliance. We can create tradeoffs utilizing this program, such as modeling a less efficient HVAC unit and, at the same time, increasing insulation in the roof and or walls and upgrading windows to balance out the energy consumption of a home.

AutoCAD– Computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) products revolutionized our industry and have been a staple in many offices for 30+ years.  CADD software replaced the long rows or drafting tables with smaller desks and computers.  AutoCAD is our CADD product of choice for its versatility, ease of use, and numerous add-ons.  Our plans are all produced with the clear, crisp lines of AutoCad.

How to Clean Gutters | Cleaning Tips | The Home Depot

It can be easy to put off cleaning gutters, but it’s a necessary job that isn’t difficult and will keep them working properly. Rain gutters get clogged with leaves and other debris over time, so cleaning them regularly is best to avoid more – and more difficult – work later. The good news is that it’s not hard to clean gutters.

The Residential Floor Plan Library

In this video, we show you what our latest project is that we have been working on and how to prepare for your first meeting with your Design Professional after choosing your floor plan from our Floor Plan Library. Before your meeting, there is a downloadable homework sheet from our website, which can be found here: https://www.rebuildparadise.org/build...

The Rebuild Paradise Foundation, professional design partners, and sponsors are proud to bring you this online resource for a build in the Camp Fire footprint.  The Residential Floor Plan Library is designed to help you save money and time in designing a home. This Library allows you to view and get access to low-cost* residential floor plans, their corresponding elevations, 3-D renderings (when available), and virtual reality walk-throughs (when available).  The following home designs have been master planned (as indicated in the plan description) to the standards set forth by the Town of Paradise and/or the County of Butte. Master planning will support the majority of properties.

Jackson & Sands Engineering has new home plans that have been approved by the Town of Paradise. These new plans have one and two-car garage options. This is exciting for the Town of Paradise and for people looking for a smaller home with a garage.

Slices of apple baked in Paradise by event sponsor Save Mart will be served in the Save Mart Pie Pavilion.

The ever-popular children's area, sponsored by Paradise Unified School District, will feature face painting, nostalgic games, and Johnny Appleseed with fruit and stories. Throughout the event, there will also be continuous hometown entertainment gracing the Gazebo Stage.

Stunning Cabin & Gardens In The Woods Of Vermont

There are very few things in life that sound quite as idyllic as a cabin in the woods and this beautiful home in Vermont is a perfect example of just that. Katie and Drew are two wonderful people who have masterfully escaped the rate race and instead chose a simpler and more fulfilling way of life for themselves by moving into a remote cabin.

Their Cabin stands amidst a spectacular woodland setting, surrounded by nature and their own abundant vegetable gardens. Here, they can spend their days growing their own food, connecting with nature and with each other.

At their cabin, life is simple, slow and intentional. We hope you enjoy this cabin tour!
